Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Maternity Support Worker to join the Women and Children’s division, across the maternity unit at Southmead Hospital. The role involves a range of clinical and non-clinical tasks under supervision, with training provided to build the required core skills and Baby Friendly standards.

Successful applicants will be expected to complete an Apprenticeship in Healthcare at Level 3 if not already achieved, with the salary pro rata for part-time roles.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in Healthcare Level 3 required or in progress.
• Training provided to develop core skills and area-specific competencies.

Responsibilities

• Support new parents and families as they adapt to parenthood.
• Take physiological observations and blood samples as required.
• Work as a strong team player while able to operate autonomously.
• Provide chaperoning support during clinical examinations.
• Collaborate with midwives and other maternity staff.
• Support in theatre when needed.
