We are seeking an enthusiastic maternity support worker to join our specialist community midwifery team for vulnerable women (Indigo Team). The Indigo Team provides enhanced maternity care to some of the most vulnerable women in our community. The successful candidate will work closely with specialist midwives to deliver tailored care, support, and education during the antenatal and postnatal periods.
South Tees NHS Trust offers maternity services to women and families in areas facing significant deprivation, including high unemployment, teenage pregnancy, substance use, domestic abuse, and poverty. Both Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland have seen an increase in children living in poverty above the national average.
Key responsibilities include:
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides leadership and improvement training for new staff, including sessions like "Your Leadership Impact" and "Service Improvement for Beginners." Post-training, staff can explore further leadership and improvement opportunities through in-house courses and bite-sized programs.
