Job summary

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Skills Facilitator within the Maternity Education Team. The role focuses on developing preceptorship for midwives, including internationally educated and return-to-practice candidates, with training days and obstetric emergencies planning.

The post requires UK NMC midwifery registration, completion of preceptorship, and at least two years of NHS experience since registration.

Qualifications

• Completed midwifery preceptorship within the UK
• Evidence of professional development
• Current NMC registration as a midwife

Responsibilities

• Work clinically with midwives on preceptorship to develop clinical skills and competencies
• Support midwives in clinical practice, including those on preceptorship, newly qualified, internationally educated, and return-to-practice midwives
• Plan and facilitate preceptorship training days and obstetric emergencies training
• Review the preceptorship programme with the preceptorship lead midwife and practice development midwives
• Support individual midwives through programmes that build knowledge and skills
• Build collaborative working with multi-disciplinary team across the directorate and Trust and with local education faculty
