Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Lead Midwife for Practice Development & Maternity Education to manage the PD Team and the education programme in maternity services. The role focuses on high-quality learning opportunities, development of interprofessional training, and supporting staff, including newly qualified midwives.

Working with the Midwifery Leadership Team, the post holder will ensure learning aligns with CQC standards, MIS criteria and NMC codes,

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with relevant experience.
• Teaching Qualification/Mentor course.
• Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience in relevant subject.
• Evidence of publications and research.
• Experience of public speaking.

Responsibilities

• Be strategically and operationally responsible for the Practice Development Team.
• Lead inter-professional learning and education programmes for the multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure learning meets CQC standards, MIS criteria, NMC codes and other guidance.
• Support newly qualified and appointed staff in preceptorship and ongoing development.
• Develop learning to promote equality and diversity across maternity services.
