Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Midwife on a 12 month secondment to support the maternity service. The role involves 0.2 WTE on-call coverage and involement in the Maternity Directorate to promote safety and coordinate investigations into perinatal mortality incidents.

Qualifications

• Registered midwife with the NMC and current practice

Responsibilities

• Coordinate perinatal mortality reviews using the PMRT
• Liaise with the Patient Safety Midwives for PMR processes
• Report to MBBRACE for perinatal deaths
• Undertake rapid reviews to identify safety concerns with a senior clinician
• Support the maternity governance team and deputise for patient safety midwives
• Mentor students and contribute to education
• Apply evidence into practice and support system learning from incidents
• Maintain strong communication with the multi-professional team
