Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Luton & Dunstable Hospital is seeking a Band 7 Labour Ward Coordinator to lead the maternity team and deliver woman-centred care.

This is a permanent full-time role (37.5 hours) involving weekend, night shifts, and bank holidays. You will mentor staff, ensure safe practice, and support NICE and Government initiatives within the maternity service.

Qualifications

• Registered midwife with current practice registration.
• Evidence of ongoing education and learning.
• Experience in intrapartum care and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of midwives and support staff, providing clinical, educational and managerial leadership.
• Ensure safe environment and audit/compliance with health and safety standards.
• Recruitment and supervision of staff; manage clinical workload and appraisals.
• Provide woman-centred care and support development of care pathways.
