Job summary

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Band 3 Maternity Support Worker to join our community team. You will support midwives, nurses, nursery nurses and doctors to care for women and babies across antenatal clinics, theatres, and in-patient wards, including the labour ward.

• Experience in caring for women and babies in a care setting.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills required.
• Flexible approach to working in any maternity area.

Responsibilities

• Assist in caring for women and babies within required competencies alongside practitioners.
• Be aware of emotional and physical needs and provide support in conjunction with the midwife.
• Serve as a point of contact for women and their families and provide clinical, physical, psychological and emotional care and support.
• Undertake routine clerical duties to support the midwifery team.
