Job summary

Band 3 Maternity Care Support Worker (Fixed Term) at BHRUT in Romford. Two 12‑month posts, full-time 37.5 hours per week with a salary of £30,630–£32,346 per year, on a yearly pay period.

You will support midwives, nurses and doctors to care for women and babies across antenatal, delivery and postnatal settings, rotating through clinics and theatres and performing routine clerical tasks under supervision. Applicants should have the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship or Level 3

Qualifications

• Have undertaken Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship and/ or holds a Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support or equivalent.
• GCSE English and maths (or equivalent) or willingness to undertake Level 2 functional skills.
• Recent maternity, neonatal, health and social care experience.
• Experience of staff supervision.
• Venepuncture training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in caring for women and babies alongside practitioners across maternity areas.
• Support emotional and physical needs of women and babies with the midwife.
• Act as a point of contact for families and provide clinical, physical, psychological and emotional care.
• Undertake routine clerical duties to aid smooth midwifery team operations.
