Job summary

BHRUT maternity department in Romford is recruiting a Band 3 Maternity Support Worker to join our community team. You will support midwives, nurses, nursery nurses and doctors across the maternity pathways, including ante-natal, delivery and postnatal care.

You will rotate through the maternity unit in all clinical areas, including antenatal clinics and theatres, with a requirement for a valid driving licence and access to a car. The Trust is proud to be a London Living Wage employer.

Qualifications

• Have undertaken Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship and/ or holds a Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support or have equivalent demonstrable skills and experience.
• GCSE English and maths (or equivalent) or willingness to undertake Level 2 functional skills

Responsibilities

• Work alongside practitioners to assist in caring for the needs of women and their babies, within required competencies.
• To be aware of emotional and physical needs of women and their babies, providing appropriate support in conjunction with the midwife.
• To serve as a point of contact for women and their families and provide clinical, physical, psychological and emotional care and support.
