Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Maternity Care Assistant to join the maternity team on a fixed-term 9-month contract. The role supports midwives and helps ensure high standards of maternity care across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.

The successful candidate will work within a rotation in the maternity unit, providing direct care to women and babies, and assisting with infant feeding education.

Responsibilities

• Support hospital-based midwives in the provision of high-quality, evidence-based care to women and their families during antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.
• Under supervision of the midwife, provide direct care to women and their babies, support mothers with infant feeding and teach parenting skills.
• Work as part of a multi-professional team and adapt to a 24-hour shift pattern including weekends and bank holidays.
