Job summary

Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Maternity Care Assistant to join the maternity team on a fixed-term 9-month maternity cover. The post supports midwives, delivering high standards of care to women and babies across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.

You will work on a rotational basis within the maternity unit, with training provided. Applicants should have NHS experience, be committed to infant feeding education (breast and formula), and demonstrate

Qualifications

GCSE Maths and English Grades A-C, Levels 4-9, Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent
NVQ Level 2 in Health care or equivalent experience
Commit to undertake in-house training / professional development
Care Certificate

Responsibilities

Support and assist hospital-based midwives in the provision of high quality, evidence-based care to women and their families during antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.
Under supervision of the midwife, provide direct care to women and their babies, support women with infant feeding and teach parenting skills.
Work within the maternity unit on a rotational post.
Attend to safeguarding and maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
