A leading healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated individual for a busy administrative role in the Maternity service at St Mary’s@Wythenshawe Hospital. The successful candidate will manage reception duties, patient inquiries, and clerical tasks while contributing positively to the team environment. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and IT skills, with an emphasis on customer service and flexibility in their work hours.
We are looking for someone to work in a busy, customer/administration service-based role who has excellent telephone and communication skills.
To join our Administration team at St Mary’s@Wythenshawe Hospital, primarily on our C1 reception.
You will work alongside Consultants, Doctors, and Midwives to ensure patients receive the best care possible. We are looking for someone to bring a positive approach to our working environment.
Successful candidates must have excellent IT skills and experience working in a customer service or healthcare environment, as you will be expected to use IT and communication equipment associated with call handling and data input.
You should demonstrate high levels of personal commitment to facilitate tasks efficiently.
You will also need to work flexibly across our Maternity service, applying a methodical approach to a varying workload. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team are essential.
The role is 30 hours per week, with hours from 13:45 to 19:45, Wednesday to Sunday, although flexibility may be required depending on service needs.
Your responsibilities include providing a robust and professional reception & general administrative service, attending to patients in HIVE in accordance with departmental & Trust policies, and providing a professional and confidential telephone service to pregnant people and healthcare professionals. You will ensure phone calls and enquiries are actioned and communicated promptly.
You will assist the Consultant and Midwives with clerical and administrative tasks, schedule, reschedule, and cancel maternity appointments & scans on HIVE, manage relevant appointment work queues and snap boards, report IT issues, and keep accurate records using Excel databases.
Maintaining a smart appearance and performing other duties as requested by the management team are also required.
