We’re looking for a Booking Office & Communications Clerk to support our customers as they travel through our stations — providing timely information, handling ticket sales, making announcements, and ensuring a smooth, safe journey experience every step of the way.

About the Role As a Booking Office &Communications Clerk General Purpose Relief (GPR) — you'll be:

️ Booking Office: Selling tickets and travel products Checking and signing for booking office floats Compiling shift sheets from ticket selling machines Ensuring accuracy of sales and cash handling

Announcing: Providing real-time information and updates over station announcements Communicating clearly and effectively during delays or disruptions

OTAP (On Train and Platform Announcements): Monitoring and updating train service information Coordinating with control and traincrew to ensure accurate messaging Supporting passengers with journey planning and assistance

️ Plus: Ensuring safety and cleanliness at all assigned stations

Rotating between different local stations including - Manchester Victoria, Rochdale, Bolton and Salford Crescent

About You

We’re looking for enthusiastic, adaptable, and customer-focused individuals who:

Have a natural flair for customer service

Are confident using IT systems and can pick up new tools quickly

️ Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

️ Are proactive, reliable, and capable of working independently

Can work flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays

After training, your base salary increases to £25,242
