Job summary

SOCOTEC UK & Ireland is seeking a proactive Materials Technician (Field & Laboratory) to join the Infrastructure division. You will conduct materials testing on site and in the lab, produce reports, and ensure QA processes are followed. The role requires flexibility to travel and work away from home when needed.

A background in construction materials testing and knowledge of UKAS accredited practices is essential, with a driving licence and physical capability for hands-on sampling and testing.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• Knowledge of UKAS accredited laboratory practices.
• Ability to undertake physical work including manual handling of samples.
• Understanding of Company QHSE protocols.

Responsibilities

• Sampling and testing of construction materials on site and in the laboratory.
• Completion of test sheets, including all calculations.
• Production of reports in line with QA systems.
