Job summary

Holcim is offering a Level 3 Construction Materials Technician Apprenticeship in Sheffield. You will work on-site in the Materials Laboratory, learning to sample, test and report on sand, aggregates and bituminous products under supervision.

The role requires 18+ and a full UK driving licence by September 2027. The programme blends hands-on site work with structured training over 20 months, with a funded salary of £18,500 per year and potential for progression within Holcim's UK materials

Qualifications

• Be 18 or over
• Not be in full‑time education
• Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Apprenticeships are designed to provide new knowledge, skills and behaviours, so applicants should not already hold a Level 3, degree or higher qualification in a closely related subject, or have significant experience in the same field.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in sampling, testing and reporting on the quality of sand, aggregates and bituminous products.
• Learn to work safely in a laboratory environment and follow testing procedures.
• Carry out tests, record results and use laboratory systems while supporting colleagues and customers.
