Materials Planner - FMCG

Location: Wednesbury

Salary: Up to £40,000 pa

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

18 Months FTC

We are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Materials Planner to support our client's UK, Far East, and Italian supply chains. If you enjoy problem-solving, working with global suppliers, and managing fast-moving planning environments, this role is for you.

About the Role

You will be responsible for forecasting, stock management, purchasing, supplier coordination, contract monitoring, and logistics planning. Working closely with Sales, Finance, Technical, and Warehouse teams, you’ll ensure materials flow smoothly and cost-effectively through the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse real sales vs forecasts and recommend PO adjustments.
  • Work with Account Managers on forecasting, promotions, and overstock management.
  • Raise and track purchase orders, resolve delays, short shipments, and credit notes.
  • Prepare supplier performance reports, costings, and landed cost / freight analysis.
  • Manage contract balances, seasonal planning (Ramadan / Diwali), and delisted / active items.
  • Liaise with UK / EU / Far East suppliers, shipping agents, Technical, and Customs Compliance.
  • Coordinate inbound / outbound logistics, external warehouse deliveries, and returns.
  • Maintain planning sheets, tracking tools, and key supply chain reports.
