Job summary

Octagon Group in North Devon is seeking a Materials Operations Manager to lead materials, logistics, inventory and production scheduling at a fast-paced site.

You will ensure the Master Production Schedule alignment, optimize material flow and drive performance across operations and supply chain functions.

The role offers leadership of a high-performing team with emphasis on lean improvements and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 5+ years' experience in materials, operations or supply chain within manufacturing.
• 3+ years' experience leading teams.
• Strong understanding of SIOP/S&OP, inventory management, and production scheduling.
• Experience with forecasting, BOM structures, and MRP/ERP systems (Kinaxis, Maestro, or MFG-Pro advantageous).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage production scheduling aligned with S&OE and MPS.
• Oversee inventory control, material flow, and site logistics.
• Ensure accurate MRP/ERP data and efficient inventory transactions.
• Monitor delivery performance and escalate supply issues.
