Job summary

Matchtech is recruiting a Materials Planner for a leading aerospace manufacturing organisation in Wimborne. The role is a 3-month contract, fully on site, and focuses on ensuring material availability to support production schedules.

You will manage material requirements, monitor inventory, raise requisitions, and work with suppliers and internal teams to minimise shortages and disruptions in a fast-paced environment. Experience with MRP/ERP systems and strong Excel skills will be essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience within aerospace, defence or manufacturing environments.
  • Previous experience in a Materials Planner, Production Planner, Supply Chain Planner or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and inventory management principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Pivot tables, V-LOOKUPS)

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure material availability.

  • Support resolution of material shortages and supply chain disruptions.
  • Generate planning reports and communicate status updates to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Job description

A leading aerospace manufacturing organisation are currently looking to urgently bring onboard a Materials Planner to play a key role in ensuring the effective planning and availability of materials to support operational delivery.

  • Role: Materials Planner
  • Duration: 3-month contract
  • Pay: 25 - 30 p/hr (Inside IR35)
  • Location: Wimborne
  • Working Pattern: Fully onsite

You will be responsible for managing material requirements, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring the timely availability of components to support production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage material requirements to support production schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and take proactive action to avoid shortages or excess stock.
  • Raise and manage purchase requisitions and expedite deliveries where required.

Working closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Operations teams, you will help drive continuity of supply and minimise disruption to production activities.
