Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our technical team in Scunthorpe. You will ensure cementitious materials meet BS EN standards by performing tests, inputting results into LIMS, and supporting product development.

You will work in a safety-conscious lab environment, with opportunities for training and career growth. The role includes calibration, data reviews, and teamwork to maintain high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental compliance.
• Understanding of Risk Assessments, Operating Procedures, COSHH.
• GCSE – Maths, Science, English.
• A level preferred (not mandatory).
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and team work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out physical testing on mortars and chemical analysis on cementitious materials.
• Input test data into LIMS and report anomalies.
• Work within a team on a testing rota.
• Daily checks to ensure equipment and quality.
• Routine calibration checks for accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness of machines and equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and regulatory standards.
• On-the-job training and product knowledge development.
• Support investigations into product issues and complaints.
