Job summary

ITS (Cheltenham) Ltd seeks a Materials Controller to join a busy construction site team. You will coordinate and track materials, check deliveries, and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely availability.

The role provides a clear path into Assistant Site Manager and ultimately Site Manager as you gain site operations know-how. This hands-on position emphasizes safe, efficient material handling, stock control, and collaboration with the Site Manager and broader project team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience on a construction site.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Good understanding of construction processes and site environments.
• Strong organisational skills and willingness to learn.
• Reliable, hardworking and keen to progress within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Managing the coordination and tracking of materials across site.
• Checking deliveries, maintaining stock records and ensuring materials are stored correctly.
• Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and site teams to ensure materials are available when required.
• Supporting the Site Manager with daily site operations and organisation.
• Monitoring material usage and reporting shortages or delays.
• Assisting with site housekeeping, logistics and general site duties.
• Carrying out some labouring duties when required to support the wider site team.
• Helping maintain a safe, tidy and efficient working environment.
• Gaining exposure to site management responsibilities with a view to career progression.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Materials Controller to join a busy construction site team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in construction who is looking to develop their career and progress into Assistant Site Management and eventually Site Management.

Working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team, you will gain valuable hands‑on experience across site operations, logistics, health & safety, quality control and programme delivery.
