Job summary

Unipart Manufacturing in Coventry is seeking a proactive Material Planner to manage material flow, supplier schedules, and goods-inward processes for a high-volume electrification and injection moulding project.

You will work with suppliers, customers, and production teams to optimise inventory, coordinate transportation, and maintain uninterrupted production in a fast-paced environment. The role involves data-driven planning, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Proven material planner/inventory control experience in high-volume, JIT manufacturing.
• Hands-on with MRP/ERP systems (IFS experience advantageous) and strong MS Excel skills.
• Experience managing complex component inputs, supplier demands, and OEM customer needs.
• Lean and problem-solving mindset to resolve bottlenecks under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Load customer and supplier schedules into MRP systems (IFS), update plans and forecasts.
• Coordinate with suppliers and customers to expedit material deliveries and track changes.
• Support production teams by tracking progress, resolving shortages, and preparing delivery paperwork.
• Monitor KPIs, analyze data, and prepare progress reports for review meetings.
• Apply lean principles and SHE procedures to improve supply chain processes.
