Job summary

Ontic Engineering & Manufacturing Limited in Bishops Cleeve is recruiting a Material Planner for a six-month contract to support material planning and inventory control within a busy aerospace manufacturing site.

You will work with Supply Chain, Production and Programme teams to ensure on-time delivery, manage shortages and optimise stock levels, while applying ERP/MRP systems where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing planning/material role is preferred.
• ERP/MRP systems experience desirable, not essential.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Able to work autonomously with influencing skills.

Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Material Planner to join our Bishops Cleeve Site for six months as a result of increased demand.

What you'll be doing

• You'll support effective material management to support business plans and schedules for Ontic, you'll work closely with Supply Chain, Programmes and Production to ensure products are delivered on time and to the required quality.
• You'll be proactive in working any shortages through the supply chain, goods inward and stores performing root cause investigation and resolution where necessary.
• You'll identify and manage material requirements of bulk issue including end of life management and monitor and suggest stock levels and use of safety stock where necessary.

What you'll need to know

• Ideally you'll have experience of working in a manufacturing environment in a Planning/Material role and be comfortable using ERP/MRP systems - this is by no means essential for this role.
• We are also keen to speak to confident, proactive individuals who are looking for their first step in to a manufacturing role or keen to start a career in Planning.
• You'll need to be comfortable communicating with both internal and external stakeholders and able to work autonomously using influencing skills to drive customer demands within the wider business.
• Experience of working within an Aerospace environment would be desirable.
