Job summary

Masstemps Ltd is seeking an experienced Material Handler to join a busy manufacturing site near Willenhall. You will operate a counterbalance FLT, load/unload steel, band and secure products, and prepare orders for dispatch, while maintaining stock locations and adhering to safety rules.

The role requires outdoor yard work, previous FLT experience in steel environments, and a reliable, physically-capable candidate committed to safe handling of heavy loads and bonded materials.

Qualifications

• Valid Counterbalance FLT license is required.
• Experience handling steel/metal products in industrial settings preferred.
• Experience using banding equipment is advantageous.
• Comfortable working outdoors in a yard environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a counterbalance FLT to move steel materials, stock and finished products around yard and warehouse.
• Load and unload steel products and deliveries; store materials safely.
• Band and strap steel products for storage or dispatch.
• Prepare steel products to order and check against job sheets.
• Use lifting equipment and FLT attachments for long/heavy items.
• Assist with loading vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate stock locations and tidy yard areas.
• Carry out basic checks on FLT and banding gear; report faults.
• Follow health & safety procedures; keep work area clean.

Material Handlerto join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the

Willenhallarea.

THE ROLE

• Operate a counterbalance FLT to safely move steel materials, stock and finished products around the yard and warehouse.
• Load and unload steel products and deliveries, ensuring materials are positioned and stored safely.
• Band and strap steel products securely using steel banding equipment ready for storage or dispatch.
• Measure and prepare steel products before banding to ensure orders are correctly prepared.
• Use appropriate lifting equipment and FLT attachments when handling long, heavy or awkward steel products.
• Check steel products against job sheets, delivery notes and order requirements.
• Ensure bundled steel is securely strapped and suitable for transportation.
• Assist with loading customer and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate stock locations and keep the yard and storage areas organised.
• Carry out basic checks on the FLT and banding equipment and report any faults.
• Follow safe working practices when handling heavy steel, banding equipment and lifting machinery.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment and follow all relevant health & safety procedures.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience operating a Counterbalance FLT within a steel, metal or industrial environment with a valid FLT license.
• Experience handling steel stock, metal products or other heavy materials would be highly advantageous.
• Previous experience using steel banding/strapping equipment.
• Good understanding of safe methods for securing and handling heavy or awkward loads.
• Experience loading and unloading HGVs or delivery vehicles would be beneficial.
• Comfortable working outdoors in a busy yard/warehouse environment.
• Good awareness of manual handling and workplace health & safety.
• Reliable and physically capable of handling steel products and carrying out general yard duties.
• Experience within a steel stockholding, metal processing or distribution environment would be advantageous.

06:00am - 14:00pm Monday to Friday

ROTATING

14:00pm - 22:00pm Monday to Friday

OR

22:00pm 06:00am - Sunday to Friday
