Job summary

Owen Payne Recruitment Services Limited in Bilston is seeking an experienced Counterbalance FLT Driver / Steel Yard Operative to join a growing manufacturing team. You will operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck, move steel and aluminium, and help organise stock in a fast-paced yard environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with long lengths of steel, a strong focus on health and safety, and a proactive, reliable approach.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a Counterbalance FLT.
• Experience handling long lengths of steel or similar materials.
• Experience working in a yard, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
• Load, unload and move steel, aluminium and other raw materials.
• Handle and position long lengths of steel.
• Organise and maintain stock within the yard.
• Book products and materials in and out.
• Take responsibility for goods-in processes.
• Follow site health & safety procedures.
• Work as part of a busy yard and manufacturing team.

Are you an experienced

Counterbalance FLT Driver with previous experience handling

long lengths of steel or similar oversized materials?

We're currently recruiting for an experienced

FLT Driver / Yard Operative to join a growing manufacturing business in

Bilston.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is confident operating a Counterbalance FLT in a busy yard environment and understands how to safely move, load and organise long steel and aluminium products.

What you'll be doing

• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck
• Loading, unloading and safely moving steel, aluminium and other raw materials
• Handling and positioning long lengths of steel
• Organising and maintaining stock within the yard
• Booking products and materials in and out
• Taking responsibility for goods-in processes
• Following site health & safety procedures
• Working as part of a busy yard and manufacturing team

What we're looking for

• Previous experience operating a Counterbalance FLT
• Previous experience handling long lengths of steel or similar materialsPrevious experience working in a yard, warehouse, or manufacturing environment
• Good understanding of health & safety
• Reliable, proactive, and safety-conscious approach to work

STEEL-HANDLING EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS POSITION
