Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Material Handler I to join our warehouse team in Loughborough. You will ensure goods are received, stored, picked, packed, and shipped safely while meeting daily operational goals.

The role is full-time (38 hours/week) for 12 months, with Monday-Thursday and Friday shifts. Pay is £13.20 per hour. You should have warehouse experience and be able to read and follow SOPs in English.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations (picking, packing, dispatch or forklift)
• Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs in English
• Strong team player with flexibility for shifts/overtime

Responsibilities

• Receiving & Put-Away: Receive deliveries/returns, unload items using manual handling equipment, check quantities/quality against purchase orders/ASNs, and book goods into the warehouse management system.
• Picking & Packing: Locate and assemble customer orders using radio data terminals and picking lists; package and label cartons/pallets for safe transit.
• Dispatch & Loading: Sort customer orders onto outbound routes and safely load delivery vehicles/carriers according to manifest sequences.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in efficiency and quality improvement projects (such as 5S and Kaizen) and maintain productivity and safety targets.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Prior experience in warehouse operations (e.g., picking, packing, dispatch, or forklift driving).
• Communication: Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal standard operating procedures in English.
• Teamwork & Flexibility: Strong team player with a positive attitude, willingness to support team goals, and flexibility regarding shift patterns or overtime when needed.
