Job summary

JDR Recruitment are recruiting a Material Handler for a large manufacturing site in Bridgwater. The role involves a busy warehouse environment with manual handling and material processing.

Shift pattern is 4 on 4 off (days 7am-7pm, nights 7pm-7am). Immediate start with a temporary-to-permanent contract. You will operate in a noisy environment and contribute to a busy production line.

Qualifications

• Counterbalance forklift licence is required.
• Immediate availability is preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing/warehouse environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Picking raw materials and moving bags around the site.
• Using machines to grind trays and sheets.
• Processing materials and moving them into bags.
• Lifting bags onto the platform.
• Role involves a mix of duties (15% forklift, 85% other tasks).
• Work in a noisy environment; this is a very manual role.

The role

As a Material Handler you will be working within a manufacturing / warehouse environment and your duties will be as follows:

• Picking raw materials and moving around the site with bags that are 2.2 metres
• Using the machines to grind trays and sheets
• Processing materials
• Taking material out and moving and then putting into the bags
• Lifting bags onto the platform
• Will be multi skilled role where 15% of the time you will be using the forklift and 85% of the time the role will be a mixture of duties
• Working within a noisy environment
• This role will be a very manual role

Skills and experience

• Available to start soon and are looking for long term work
• Good level of organisation
• A counterbalance licence is a must and happy with in house certificate
• Quick learner
• Strong work ethic and professional approach
• High level of attention to detail
• Able to work both days and nights on a 4 shift pattern
