Job summary

Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for a Material Handler in Sutton Coldfield. The role involves moving materials, stock control, order prep and records using SAP/ERP systems.

You will work 38 hours per week on rotating AM/PM shifts, with training leading to increased pay and a shift allowance. The successful candidate will have warehouse experience, FLT licences, Excel knowledge, and a strong eye for detail, with a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment.
Experience covering goods inward, despatch, stock movements, and material handling.
Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
Good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures.
Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
Working knowledge of Excel and warehouse management processes.

Responsibilities

Maintain the flow of materials to production, ensuring materials are supplied accurately and on time.
Load and unload deliveries and materials safely and efficiently.
Process goods receipts, stock movements, and material issues using SAP/ERP systems.
Pick, pack, and prepare materials and finished goods for dispatch.
Transfer stock between warehouse locations and production areas.
Ensure all stock is correctly identified, stored, and rotated.
Conduct regular stock checks and inventory activities.
Complete all warehouse transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Ensure shipping and dispatch documentation is completed correctly.
Support internal departments with material deliveries and collections.
Operate material handling equipment safely and effectively.
Maintain high housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles.
Assist with hazardous waste movements where required.

Job description

As Material Handler for a manufacturing business in Sutton Coldfield, you will support logistics and warehouse operations on a permanent, full-time basis. The weekly rotating pattern runs Monday to Friday, with AM shifts from 6:00am to 2:00pm and PM shifts from 2:00pm to 10:00pm, plus a Friday finish. A shift allowance applies, with the starting salary at £13.20 per hour, rising to £14.07 once trained, equating to £26,082 annually.
