Job summary

Prince Personnel is recruiting a Materials Controller for a permanent, full-time role in the Shrewsbury area. You will ensure material availability to support production schedules, manage stock levels, and raise purchase orders with suppliers.

Ideal candidates have experience in planning, stock control and supplier management in manufacturing, with strong Excel and ERP/MRP skills. Excellent benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Monitor material requirements and maintain stock levels to support production schedules.
• Raise and manage purchase orders with suppliers.
• Coordinate delivery schedules, lead times and supply issues with suppliers.
• Track and expedite materials to ensure on-time delivery.
• Maintain accurate data in the ERP/MRP system and resolve stock discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Purchasing and Warehouse teams.
• Produce reports and analyse material usage and stock trends.
• Support continuous improvement in the supply chain function.

Material Controller

Telford

Hours: Mon-Fri 37.5hrs

Duration: Permanent

Salary: up to circa £35,000 per annum

We are working with a well-established manufacturing business who are looking to recruit an experienced Materials Controller to join their Production Control team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with strong planning, stock control and supplier management experience to play a key role in ensuring materials are available to support production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring material requirements and ensuring stock levels are maintained to support production schedules
• Raising and managing purchase orders with suppliers
• Liaising with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, lead times and any supply issues
• Tracking and expediting materials to ensure on-time delivery
• Managing inventory levels and identifying opportunities to reduce excess stock
• Maintaining accurate data within the ERP/MRP system
• Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies
• Working closely with Production, Planning, Purchasing and Warehouse teams
• Producing reports and analysing material usage and stock trends
• Supporting continuous improvement activities within the supply chain function

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Materials Controller, Materials Planner, Production Planner or Supply Chain role within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems
• Excellent organisational and planning skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and supplier relationship management skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
