Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience as Material Controller or within Materials Planning, Supply Chain or Production Planning.
• Strong understanding of MRP systems and material requirements planning.
• Experience supporting production within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Planning and controlling the supply of materials and components to support production schedules.
• Monitoring inventory levels and proactively managing material shortages.
• Working closely with production teams to identify and resolve supply issues before they impact build schedules.
• Using MRP systems to interpret demand and generate material requirements.
• Managing supplier communications, expediting deliveries and supporting supplier performance.
• Providing regular updates on material status, shortages and recovery plans.
• Identifying potential supply chain risks and implementing actions to minimise production disruption.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across material planning and supply processes.
• Building strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply.

Are you an experienced Material Controller, Materials Planner or Supply Chain professional looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact on production performance?

My client is seeking a proactive and highly organised Material Controller to join their Supply Chain & Logistics team. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring materials and components are available exactly when needed, helping to keep production running smoothly and supporting the delivery of high-quality products.

Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be at the centre of production planning activities, collaborating with suppliers, production teams and internal stakeholders to manage material availability, resolve shortages and minimise supply chain disruption.

What You'll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Material Controller or within Materials Planning, Supply Chain or Production Planning.
• Strong understanding of MRP systems and material requirements planning.
• Experience supporting production within a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent planning, organisational and analytical skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to managing shortages and risks.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build effective supplier and stakeholder relationships.
• Automotive or complex manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
