Job summary

Apex Resource Management is looking for an experienced Material Controller to join the Supply Chain & Logistics team in Daventry. You will plan and control materials to support production, monitor shortages, and collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.

In a fast-paced manufacturing environment you will interpret demand via MRP, provide updates on material status, and help minimise disruption while driving continuous improvements across planning processes.

Qualifications

• Experience as Material Controller or in Materials Planning, Supply Chain or Production Planning.
• Strong understanding of MRP systems and material requirements planning.
• Experience supporting production within a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent planning, organisational and analytical skills.
• Proactive problem solving in shortages and risks.
• High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Confident communicator with suppliers and stakeholders relationships.
• Automotive or complex manufacturing experience advantageous.

My client is seeking a proactive and highly organised Material Controller to join their Supply Chain & Logistics team. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring materials and components are available exactly when needed, helping to keep production running smoothly and supporting the delivery of high-quality products.

Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be at the centre of production planning activities, collaborating with suppliers, production teams and internal stakeholders to manage material availability, resolve shortages and minimise supply chain disruption.

What You'll Be Doing

• Planning and controlling the supply of materials and components to support production schedules.
• Monitoring inventory levels and proactively managing material shortages.
• Working closely with production teams to identify and resolve supply issues before they impact build schedules.
• Using MRP systems to interpret demand and generate material requirements.
• Managing supplier communications, expediting deliveries and supporting supplier performance.

• Identifying potential supply chain risks and implementing actions to minimise production disruption.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Material Controller or within Materials Planning, Supply Chain or Production Planning.
• Strong understanding of MRP systems and material requirements planning.
• Experience supporting production within a manufacturing environment.
