Are you an experienced Material Scheduler, Materials Planner or
Supply Chain Planner who can hit the ground running within a busy
manufacturing environment?

Do you have experience managing material availability, purchase
orders and inventory while working closely with Production
Planning, suppliers, Logistics and Quality?

We're supporting a global manufacturing organisation in
Petersfield who are looking for a Material Scheduler to join
their team on an initial 4-month fixed-term contract.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced supply chain
professional to take ownership of short-term material
availability and help ensure production continues to run
smoothly.

What's the role all about?

As the Material Scheduler, your main focus will be making sure
the right materials and components are available at the right
time to support the production plan.

You’ll manage material requirements across a 0-8 week planning
horizon, tracking purchase orders, identifying shortages and
working closely with Material Planners, Production Schedulers,
suppliers, Logistics, Quality and Warehousing to resolve issues
before they impact production.

It’s a fast-moving role where you’ll need to be comfortable
working with data, managing changing priorities and proactively
chasing information to keep materials moving.

What will you be doing?

• Coordinate material and component deliveries to support the production schedule
• Monitor material availability across the 0-8 week planning horizon
• Identify potential material shortages and raise alerts before they impact production
• Track purchase orders and provide accurate status updates
• Follow up on overdue purchase orders and supplier delivery issues
• Work with Material Planners to manage supply and demand exceptions
• Support expediting, de-expediting, cancellations and volume changes where required
• Work closely with Production Schedulers to ensure material availability aligns with manufacturing plans
• Investigate material delays and communicate potential risks to Planning and Production
• Support the resolution of unexpected issues including quality rejections and logistics delays
• Produce Production at Risk reporting and identify the root cause of material shortages
• Work with Quality and Logistics to prioritise materials required urgently for production
• Maintain accurate planning dates and delivery information
• Support Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) requirements
• Monitor inventory and recommend opportunities to improve stock levels
• Support the management of safety stock and material planning parameters
• Monitor warehouse capacity against scheduled material deliveries
• Build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

What do you need?

• Previous experience within Material Planning, Material Scheduling, Supply Chain or Manufacturing Planning
• Ideally 2-4 years' experience within a supply chain environment
• Experience working within a manufacturing business
• Good understanding of material requirements, inventory and production planning
• Experience tracking and managing purchase orders
• Confidence dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience using planning and supply chain systems such as SAP, E2Open, Kinaxis or similar would be particularly beneficial.

Desirable

• FMCG, cosmetics or personal care manufacturing
• Raw material or packaging planning
• Supplier management
• Inventory management and safety stock calculations
• SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems
• High-volume manufacturing environments
• A degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Operations or a related discipline would be advantageous, although relevant hands-on experience will also be considered.
