Job summary

Sunderland AFC in Sunderland, England, is seeking a Matchday Coordinator to deliver a first-class supporter experience at first team home games and major events. You will manage planning, coordination and delivery across Premium Experience, Fanzones, public catering areas, entertainment, and stadium tours.

You will collaborate with internal departments and external partners, research best practices, and ensure welcoming, engaging matchdays.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal departments, external partners and suppliers to raise standards across matchdays and major events.
• Research best practices across the industry and explore ideas from competitor venues to improve experiences.

About the Team:

The Events team is responsible for planning and delivering a first class matchday and major events experience for supporters, guests and key stakeholders across Sunderland AFC’s first team home games and wider Club events.

Working collaboratively across the Club, the team supports a safe, welcoming and high performing environment by coordinating matchday activity across premium experience, fanzones, public catering areas, entertainment, supporter engagement, mascots, flag bearers, stadium tours and external partners.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Matchday Coordinator to create and maintain a positive customer experience for all supporters at Sunderland AFC first team home games, helping to ensure every matchday is welcoming, engaging and professionally delivered.

You will take ownership of the planning, coordination and delivery of key matchday experience areas, including Premium Experience, Fanzones, public catering areas, matchday engagement, entertainment, mascots, flag bearers and stadium tours.

With an innovative mindset and a focus on continuous improvement, you will research best practice across the industry, explore ideas from competitor stadiums where possible and work closely with internal departments, external suppliers, entertainers, contractors, service providers and local stakeholders to raise standards across matchdays and major events.

The successful candidate will be required to work all home fixtures and major events at the Stadium of Light, use SeatGeek to support the management of Premium Experience packages.
