A Day in the Life of a Master Technician:
“I start my day by checking bookings for the near future where I make contact prior to the visit to gather more information to speed up the repair process on the day of booking. I then go to workshop control to collect my first job of the day, as a Master Technician I get involved with the majority of diagnostics appointments whereby the customer reports a fault and I am to determine the cause and what is required to rectify the problem, when parts have been delivered I then complete the repairs.
Whilst doing this level of work I will task my apprentice with tasks such as checking the vehicles tyre pressures and carrying out vehicle health checks.
Not every day is the same for me but I like to keep a structure in place, I love the challenge of the role and the tests that it brings even after 36 years of employment.”
