Job summary

AutoSkills is seeking an experienced Master Technician / Diagnostic Technician in Coventry to join a busy, modern dealership workshop. You will diagnose complex faults, support the workshop team, and advance your skills through manufacturer training.

In this role you will lead diagnostics, mentor Vehicle Technicians, perform advanced servicing and repairs to manufacturer specs, and maintain accurate service records in a fast-paced environment with the latest diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Previous experience as a Master Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Senior Vehicle Technician, or Lead Technician.
• Exceptional diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Main Dealership or large independent workshop experience.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to support and mentor other technicians.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing complex electrical, mechanical, and electronic faults
• Carrying out advanced servicing, maintenance, and repairs
• Using the latest manufacturer diagnostic equipment and software
• Supporting and mentoring Vehicle Technicians within the workshop
• Completing repairs in line with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
• Carrying out vehicle inspections and quality checks
• Maintaining accurate workshop documentation and service records
• Working closely with the Service Department to maximise workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction

The Role

As the workshop's technical specialist, you'll play a key role in maintaining high workshop standards while supporting colleagues with advanced diagnostics and repairs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing complex electrical, mechanical, and electronic faults

About You

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
