Job summary

Autolus Therapeutics in Stevenage is seeking a Master Scheduler, Engineering to lead strategic planning, scheduling and coordination of engineering projects. You will optimize resource use and ensure on-time delivery of initiatives in a fast-paced biopharma environment.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of project planning experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with MS Project or Primavera. A related engineering degree and PMP are highly regarded.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of project planning and scheduling experience in biopharmaceuticals or related industry.
  • Proficiency with MS Project or Primavera and MS Office.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • PMP or similar certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically develop and manage comprehensive project schedules and milestones.
  • Coordinate resources across engineering, manufacturing and quality teams.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Lead regular project status meetings and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Analyze performance metrics to optimize resource utilization.
  • Prepare high-level reports for senior management with actionable insights.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
  • Champion adoption of advanced project management tools and methods.

Position Summary:

The Master Scheduler, Engineering will be responsible for the strategic planning, scheduling, and coordination of engineering projects within Autolus. This role will ensure the efficient use of resources and adherence to project timelines, contributing to the successful delivery of engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project planning within the biopharmaceutical or related industry, with strong analytical and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategically develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, overseeing resource allocation, establishing critical timelines, and defining key milestones to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality, ensuring cohesive coordination and alignment of project objectives and deliverables.
  • Proactively monitor project progress, identifying potential risks and issues, and implementing innovative mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
  • Lead and facilitate regular project status meetings, delivering insightful updates and ensuring transparent, effective communication with all stakeholders to drive alignment and accountability.
  • Leverage data analytics and performance metrics to continuously assess project performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and drive improvements in resource utilization and efficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver high-level project reports to senior management, presenting key achievements, challenges, and actionable next steps, while providing strategic insights for informed decision-making.
  • Ensure unwavering compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies, maintaining the highest levels of integrity and quality throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Champion the development and implementation of advanced project management tools and methodologies, driving continuous improvement to enhance organizational efficiency and project delivery excellence.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, or related industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
Working Conditions:
  • This position may require occasional travel to other Autolus locations or partner sites.
