The client are a leading national retail bank who are looking to hire a Marketing Planning Director into their team in London. This role will be responsible for owning the marketing and customer strategy and will have brand transformation and technology transformation experience.
Description
Key responsibilities of the Marketing Planning Director:
- Develop and deliver multi-year marketing plans aligned to overall business objectives.
- P&L ownership for the Marketing and Design function; setting and managing multi-million-pound budgets and tracking spend and performance
- Lead on Marketing measurement and reporting into Finance, ExCo and wider product and segment forum
- Play a pivotal leadership role across UK Marketing and Design in delivering against our wider transformation agenda. Opportunity to reshape planning and modelling capabilities and implement new emerging technology, inclusive of AI
- Partner closely with Insights and Analytical teams to ensure robust interpretation and actionable plans are formed around relevant data/insights analysis to assist in the marketing strategy creation
- Leadership of our vendor management, ensuring independent assessment of vendor capabilities and outcomes
- Define and lead the team-wide operating model required to execute our marketing strategy and plan
Development and delivery of strategic marketing & customer planning capability
- Work in close collaboration with Marketing & Design and functional colleagues to assist in the development of both short and mid-term marketing strategy to support commercial and customer aspirations, including the delivery of the annual marketing and integrated communications plan.
- Partner closely with Insights and Analytical teams to ensure robust interpretation and actionable plans are formed around relevant data/insights analysis to assist in the marketing strategy creation Oversee and develop the Marketing planning capability and output
- Own and optimise the aggregated Marketing rolling planning process, working in a collaborative manner with the relevant departments in the wider UK Marketing function, to provide a well manged and effective plan
- Define and lead our investment optimisation process - overseeing the Quarterly review of the plan as well as Mid-Term Plan (MTP) development
- Keep our UK Head of Marketing & Design and Senior Marketing stakeholders engaged at key points of the delivery cycle - both for our annual Mid-Term Plan as well as during Quarterly Planning cycles
ProfileThe successful candidate:- Knowledge of competitor (and multi-industry) brands and their marketing strategies.
- Knowledge of agile delivery practices
- Combination of brand marketing, digital marketing and commercial acumen skillsets
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
- Desire to seek out and embrace new ways of working to improve productivity
- Desire and track record of building internal and external relationships at a senior level to enhance business performance
- Passion for driving commercial impact with strong commercial acumen
- Proven capability of building and developing effective leadership teams and succession plans
- Extensive knowledge of marketing and its impact on the customer experience
- Financial Services experience in a customer centric organisation is beneficial
