Are you a senior technology leader or Enterprise Architect ready to help shape the future of the UK’s energy infrastructure?

An independent, strategically vital organisation at the heart of the UK’s smart metering and net zero ambitions is hiring a Head of Business & Technical Architecture. This is a unique opportunity to lead the architectural strategy for one of the UK’s most critical digital infrastructures—supporting over 30 million smart meter connections nationwide.

This leadership role is ideal for an experienced Enterprise Architect with a strong track record in shaping large-scale technical and business architectures—especially in complex, regulated, or data-heavy environments such as energy, telecoms, or digital infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead the evolution of smart metering technology and business architecture across the UK energy sector
• Chair a key industry Sub-Committee, influencing multi-party decisions involving regulators, government, and service providers
• Shape and assure architectural direction for major future programmes—including a new Data Service Provider solution
• Act as a trusted advisor to board-level stakeholders and regulators
• Drive innovation and ensure smart metering arrangements stay fit for the future in a decarbonising energy system

We’re looking for someone with:

• 5+ years in a senior technology leadership role (e.g., Enterprise Architect, CTO, CPO)
• The ability to chair and lead cross-functional discussions, balancing strategic priorities with technical rigour
