Job summary

Morrisons is seeking a Bakery Assistant to join our Market Street fresh counters, bringing pride in quality bread and pastries and delivering great customer service every shift.

You'll bake and prepare a range of breads, rolls and doughnuts to spec, keep displays vibrant and safe, and help the team keep the bakery running smoothly in a fast-paced environment. You’ll operate ovens and mixers safely and assist customers with queries.

Qualifications

• Experience in bakery or fast-paced food environment is desirable.
• Ability to use bakery equipment safely and to spec.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake breads, rolls, doughnuts and fruited products to spec.
• Maintain attractive displays and ensure product availability.
• Operate bakery equipment safely and uphold health & safety standards.

More About The Role

Our fresh in-store bakeries are a huge part of what makes Market Street special. From fresh bread and rolls to baps, barms, cobs, and jam doughnuts, our Bakers craft delicious baked goods every single day.

In this role, you’ll be on hand to:

• Put customers first: Deliver friendly, helpful service that highlights the fresh bakery products we offer every shift.
• Prepare quality baked goods: Bake and prepare a wide range of breads, rolls, doughnuts, and fruited products to company specification.
• Maintain vibrant displays: Keep fresh, attractive bakery displays fully stocked throughout the trading day to ensure product availability.
• Keep operations safe and smooth: Operate bakery equipment safely, maintain high health and safety standards, and support other fresh counters when needed.

• Works flexibly with the team: Happy to lend a helping hand across other Market Street fresh counters to support store colleagues.
