Job summary

Morrisons is hiring for a Bakery Assistant to join our Market Street fresh bakery team. You’ll deliver friendly service, prepare a wide range of breads, rolls, doughnuts and pastries to our spec, and keep bakery displays well stocked throughout the shift.

We value quality, safety, and teamwork, with opportunities for development through our Leadership School. You’ll work in a busy retail bakery, supporting store colleagues and delighting customers with great food.

Qualifications

• Experience in bakery or fast-paced food environment.
• Customer service experience is beneficial.
• Able to work as part of a team, flexible across counters.

Responsibilities

• Put customers first with friendly, helpful service.
• Prepare a wide range of breads, rolls, doughnuts and pastries to spec.

Our fresh in-store bakeries are a huge part of what makes Market Street special. From fresh bread and rolls to baps, barms, cobs, and jam doughnuts, our Bakers craft delicious baked goods every single day.

In this role, you’ll be on hand to:

• Put customers first: Deliver friendly, helpful service that highlights the fresh bakery products we offer every shift.
• Prepare quality baked goods: Bake and prepare a wide range of breads, rolls, doughnuts, and fruited products to company specification.
• Maintain vibrant displays: Keep fresh, attractive bakery displays fully stocked throughout the trading day to ensure product availability.
• Keep operations safe and smooth: Operate bakery equipment safely, maintain high health and safety standards, and support other fresh counters when needed.

• Confidently uses bakery equipment: Skilled in preparing bakery products to spec using ovens, provers, and mixers safely.
• Enjoys an active, hands-on role: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and taking pride in fresh food presentation.
• Loves helping people: Warm, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to support customers and resolve queries.
• Works flexibly with the team: Happy to lend a helping hand across other Market Street fresh counters to support store colleagues.
