Job summary

Arup's Maritime team is growing across Scotland and the North of England. You will work with structural, civil and geotechnical engineers on maritime and marine infrastructure projects from advisory and concept development through to detailed design and construction support.

The role offers opportunities to take responsibility for projects, engage with clients and stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers within a multidisciplinary environment across the UK.

Qualifications

• BEng, MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status (MICE, MIStructE or equivalent).
• Experience designing and delivering maritime or related infrastructure, such as bridges, retaining structures or waterfront developments.
• Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, BS 6349 and relevant industry standards.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
• Confident working with clients, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects from masterplanning and concept through to detailed design and construction.
• Produce and review maritime engineering designs, calculations, reports, drawings and digital models.
• Undertake inspections, condition surveys and technical assessments.
• Develop technical details and sketches for CAD and Revit.
• Support specifications, contract documentation and project management.
• Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.
