Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to install, commission and maintain radar, navigation and electronic systems for naval vessels, commercial ships and shore-based setups. You will travel across the UK and internationally, performing fault-finding and training, and generating detailed service reports.

Qualifications

• Experience in a field service engineering environment.
• Knowledge of navigation, radar and electronics testing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and documentation.
• Understanding of computer hardware, software applications and basic networking.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and maintain radar, navigation and electronic systems.
• Fault-finding, troubleshooting, electronics testing and acceptance tests.
• Travel regularly to UK and overseas customer locations.
• Provide technical support on naval and commercial vessels and shore-based systems.
• Deliver customer training and support resolution of technical issues.
• Prepare detailed service reports and technical advice documentation.
• Communicate field-based technical information to line management and internal teams.
• Support the customer services helpdesk when on site and comply with health and safety requirements.
