Job summary

Jacobs in Leeds is seeking an experienced Project Design and Engineering Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams through feasibility, FEED, detailed design, procurement support, construction and handover for major ports and maritime projects.

You will embed health, safety and environmental considerations, drive innovative, sustainable engineering solutions, and coordinate civil, structural, marine and electrical disciplines while managing design programs, technical risk and client interfaces.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Design Management and Engineering Leadership on complex infrastructure projects.
• A strong technical background within civil, structural, marine or related engineering disciplines.
• Experience managing FEED, detailed design and design assurance processes.
• Demonstrable success leading diverse engineering teams and coordinating multiple technical disciplines.
• Collaborative stakeholder engagement skills with clients, contractors, regulators and project partners.
• Chartered Engineer status.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic Engineering and Design leadership and strategy during bids, tenders and project development activities.
• Be recognized as project engineering and design focal point for major maritime infrastructure projects.
• Drive the development of innovative, practical and sustainable engineering solutions that meet client, operational and regulatory requirements.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations into all engineering and design solutions.
• Ensure effective integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, marine, mechanical and Electrical functions.
• Ensure constructability, maintainability and reliability across the whole asset lifecycle.
• Support engineering teams in resolving complex technical challenges arising during design development and construction.
• Promote innovation in digital engineering, sustainability, climate adaptation and low-carbon infrastructure design.
