Job summary

QinetiQ Limited is seeking a Communications Maintenance Engineer for our Portsmouth site to maintain critical GFX communication systems and support Harbour Acceptance Trials. You will configure equipment, perform regular checks, and collaborate with engineers and customers to ensure successful trials.

Role requires maintenance experience on communications gear, NVQ3 in Engineering or equivalent, and eligibility for UK security clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance role on communication systems.
• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Eligibility for UK security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Configure GFX equipment and infrastructure per RFMS specifications for Trials.
• Maintain all GFX equipment in accordance with UMMS, BRs, JSPs and OEM guidelines.
• Perform daily readiness checks to ensure safety and availability for trials.
• Collaborate with Combat Systems Engineers and customers during trials for support.
• Conduct fault-finding, reconfigure equipment, and support monthly System Operator Checks.
• Register defects in RFMS and keep the Operations Team updated on progress.
