Job summary

QinetiQ Limited in Portsmouth is seeking a Communications Maintenance Engineer to ensure reliability of critical communication systems for Harbour Acceptance Trials. The role focuses on maintaining GFX equipment to HAT standards and supporting trial operations with SMEs on site.

You will configure, check and maintain equipment, work with cross‑functional teams, and assist monthly System Operator Checks, ensuring readiness for trials and rapid fault resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance role on communication systems.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Configuring all GFX equipment and infrastructure per RFMS specs to meet the Trials Programme requirements.
• Maintaining all designated GFX equipment in line with UMMS, BRs, JSPs, and OEM guidelines.
• Ensuring GFX equipment is safe, well-maintained and available for daily trials.
• Collaborating with Combat Systems Engineers and customers to provide support during trials.
