Job summary

QinetiQ is seeking a Communications Maintenance Engineer for our Portsmouth site to ensure the reliability of critical communication systems used in Harbour Acceptance Trials and maritime technology development.

You will configure and maintain GFX equipment under RFMS/UMMS guidelines, support trials with SME input, and perform thorough fault-finding and defect tracking to prevent downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining communications systems.
• Familiarity with RFMS, UMMS and HAT standards.
• Eligible for SC clearance.

Responsibilities

• Configure GFX equipment per RFMS specs.
• Maintain GFX equipment per UMMS and OEM guidelines.
• Ensure readiness for daily trials.
• Provide on-site SME support during trials.
• Conduct fault-finding and assist monthly checks.
• Register and track defects in RFMS.
