Job summary

Rolls-Royce Power Systems in Heybridge is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the NauitIQ Solutions team, delivering integrated platform management systems for marine applications. You will review high level automation requirements, translate them into validated designs and interface with customers and partners.

The role requires PLC programming experience (C/C++, ST), HMI design, and a proven ability to manage projects through all lifecycle stages in naval environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with practical experience.
• 3+ years in electrical engineering, automation design and project management.
• Knowledge of naval/marine automation standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review and agree high level automation requirements and their testability.
• Translate high level requirements into validated automation component designs.
• Interface with external/internal customers to elicit requirements.
• Design and implement automation designs to meet constraints/standards.
• Allocate automation requirements to test vehicles in the verification plan.
• Create an Enterprise Architecture solution serving business and technical needs.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, guidelines, tools, and training.
• Create documents: FDS, CMD, Test Specifications, and Operator/Maintenance Manuals.
• Experience in system safety: FMEA, FMECA, Risk Analysis, etc.
• Collaborate with disciplines to support functional performance of components.
• Define the Systems Engineering and Verification approach for the programme.
