Job summary

Rolls-Royce Power Systems in Heybridge seeks a Systems Engineer to join the NauitIQ Solutions team. The role focuses on designing Integrated Platform Management Systems for marine applications and coordinating with other engineering disciplines to ensure compliance with business and regulatory requirements.

You will develop automation designs, participate in safety analyses, and document specifications while interfacing with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with proven competence.
• 3+ years in electrical engineering, automation design and project delivery.
• Naval/marine automation experience.
• Experience across full lifecycle of projects.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Review and agree high level automation requirements.
• Translate requirements into validated automation designs.
• Interface with stakeholders to elicit requirements.
• Design and implement automation to meet constraints.
• Develop Enterprise Architecture solutions for business and technical needs.
• Create FDS, CMD, Test Specifications, and manuals.
• Define System Safety activities (FMEA, FMECA, Risk Analysis).
• Set Systems Engineering and Verification approach for programmes.
• Define IPMS interfaces with 3rd party systems.
• Learn WINMON language and expand PLC/HMI capabilities.
• Liaise with other disciplines for component performance.
