Job summary

Rolls-Royce Corporation in Heybridge is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Navy/marine automation team. You will contribute to Integrated Platform Management Systems and related equipment for marine applications, liaising with multiple engineering disciplines.

You will translate high level requirements into validated automation designs, develop documentation, and support system safety activities. A degree in electrical engineering and 3+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent competence.
• 3+ years in electrical engineering or automation projects.
• Naval/marine automation experience or knowledge.
• Experience across project lifecycle stages.
• Able to work in a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Review and agree high level automation requirements and testability.
• Translate requirements into validated automation design.
• Interface with customers and partners to elicit requirements.
• Design and implement automation designs meeting constraints and standards.
• Allocate automation requirements to test vehicles per verification plan.
• Create Enterprise Architecture solutions for business and technical needs.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, guidelines and training.
• Produce documents like FDS, CMD, test specs and manuals.
• Support System Safety activities (FMEA, FMECA, Risk Analysis).
• Coordinate with other disciplines to validate system performance.
