Job summary

Vanguard Broking, a London-based marine insurance broker, is seeking an Account Handler ready to step into a hybrid broking role. You’ll manage your own marine client portfolio daily and gradually take on placement, negotiation, and client-facing responsibilities to grow into a full broking position.

The ideal candidate has current account handling experience in marine insurance, strong communication skills, and a genuine appetite to learn the placement and negotiation side of the business.

Qualifications

• Experience in account handling within marine insurance.
• Ambition to move into broking.
• Strong communication with clients and underwriters.
• Ability to manage a busy portfolio under deadlines.
• Willingness to learn placement and negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of marine clients: renewals and queries.
• Prepare quotations, policy docs and submissions.
• Assist in placing and negotiating with underwriters.
• Support claims handling and client-insurer liaison.
• Attend client/market meetings with senior brokers.
• Maintain accurate records and FCA/Lloyd's compliance.
