Job summary

MDL Marinas Ltd is seeking a proactive Marina Manager for Northney Marina on Hayling Island. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead our on-site team, ensure outstanding customer service, and drive safe, profitable site performance.

In partnership with central services, you will manage administration, finances, maintenance checks, and staff development, while delivering the MDL Way. The role includes training leading to industry qualifications and a commitment to equal opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day marina operations and lead the on-site team to ensure excellent customer service.
• Accountable for financial performance and profitable operation of the marina.
• Carry out regular checks and maintenance to keep the site safe, secure, tidy and well landscaped.
• Ensure operations reflect the company's market-leading image and comply with HSE and policy guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Marina Administrator to manage marina and boatyard administration and revenue collection.

Job description

Northney Marina is situated on the north shore of Hayling Island within Chichester Harbour, one of the largest natural harbours in Europe. We aim to deliver the highest level of service and experience for our visitors and customers, demanding the very best from our ourselves whilst working as a team every day. To help us deliver exceptional service we are seeking to recruit a Marina Manager to assist with marina operations at Northney Marina.

This is a full-time position working up to 40 hours each week over 5 days supporting the marina operations activities. The successful applicant will be required to attend various training in the initial period of employment as part of a full induction process.

The role will include but not limited to:

• To be responsible for the day to day operations at Northney Marina; working alongside their team to ensure the effective and efficient running of site operations ensuring excellence in customer service and experience at all times.
• To be accountable for the financial performance of your business(s) and run your marinas effectively, correctly and profitably.
• In conjunction with the site management teams, ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly checks are carried out, along with all routine maintenance to ensure the sites remains safe, secure, clean, tidy and well landscaped at all times.
• To ensure the day to day operation and overall image of the site reflects the Company’s position as market leader.
• To ensure all legal, HSE and company policies including financial policies are being adhered to.
• Working with the Marina Administrator to manage all marina and boatyard administration to ensure all records are maintained accurately in order to yield maximum revenue; assisting with marina and boatyard administration where necessary. To ensure payment is received for all services under the guidelines laid down.

• To adopt a flexible attitude towards work location whilst providing the best in customer experience and site cover; driving customer focus to the forefront of your activities.
• To manage site staff to ensure they are providing the best possible customer experience.
• To build and develop a professional close working relationship with senior management, central services and staff at your facility. To include the holding of regular staff meetings and undertaking annual appraisals.
• To place the customer at the forefront of your daily duties and ensure excellence in customer service and customer experience is achieved at all times.
• To deliver operational process and systems in accordance with the quality management systems of the MDL Way.
